The gap we help close

Growing up doesn't come with instructions.

School gives young people valuable academic knowledge, but there is rarely enough time to teach them how to manage emotions, build healthy relationships, understand money or make confident everyday decisions. These are the skills they will use long after their final exam.

AT Guided Growth bridges that gap with practical, age-appropriate learning in a supportive in-person environment. Each session blends meaningful discussion, hands-on activities and real-world challenges, giving students repeated opportunities to turn what they learn into choices, habits and skills they can use in everyday life.

“Our focus is not simply on what young people know. It is on who they are becoming.”

Every student receives their very own AT Guided Growth signature journal—a beautifully designed, pressure-free space to capture ideas, complete challenges and return to the lessons that matter.

The story behind AT Guided Growth

The lessons we wish we had learned sooner.

AT Guided Growth is a family-run program created by married couple Andrew and Tamara. Together, they share a conviction that young people deserve more than classroom knowledge—they deserve the confidence, judgement and practical skills to understand life's challenges and genuinely thrive.

Andrew

Across more than a decade working in personal training, completing a Master of High Performance Sport, and spending four years within elite sporting environments, Andrew saw firsthand how confidence, discipline, healthy habits and the ability to make good decisions can shape a person's future.

Later, through his own journey into investing and macroeconomics, he became increasingly aware of another side of adulthood that many young people are rarely prepared for—understanding money, managing responsibility, thinking independently and making informed choices.

It raised a simple question:

Why are we preparing children to succeed in school... but not in life?

That question became one of the driving forces behind AT Guided Growth.

Andrew co-founded the program to help young people develop the practical skills, confidence and character they will need as they grow—not by telling them who they should become, but by helping them better understand themselves, the world around them, and the choices they make within it.

His goal is simple: to help young people leave childhood feeling more capable, more confident and better prepared for whatever life places in front of them.

Tamara

For Tamara, AT Guided Growth grew from years spent doing what she has always loved most—caring for children, supporting families and helping young people grow into themselves.

As a mum to Logan and Mila, with seven years working in childcare and her own nannying business since 2018, Tamara has had a front-row seat to childhood. She has seen how confidence can grow from being trusted with responsibility, how independence develops through small everyday experiences, and how the habits children build early can quietly shape the adults they become.

Health and wellbeing have also been a constant part of her life. From running an online health and wellness business to growing vegetables and preparing whole foods at home, Tamara believes some of the most valuable lessons are learned by living them—not simply being told about them.

AT Guided Growth was originally imagined as a way to better prepare teenagers for adulthood. But Tamara saw an even greater opportunity: begin earlier.

Give children the foundations while they are still forming their habits, confidence and understanding of the world. Then continue building on those foundations as they grow.

That philosophy remains at the heart of what Tamara brings to AT Guided Growth—helping create a program where practical life skills become part of growing up, rather than lessons young people are left to discover later.

“We created AT Guided Growth to give young people the lessons we wish we had been given earlier—so they can meet adult life with knowledge, capability and belief in themselves.”

Four modules. Skills for life.

The four modules form one connected journey. Each develops a different part of real-life readiness, and together they build the confidence, judgement and practical capability young people need as they grow.

Module 1

Health

Strong foundations for body and mind.

Students build confidence and self-awareness while learning how everyday choices shape the way they feel and perform. Through practical routines for sleep, nutrition, exercise and emotional wellbeing, they develop healthier ways to manage stress, social pressure and technology.

ConfidenceHealthy routinesResilienceDigital wellbeing
Module 2

Relationships

The skills to connect with confidence.

Young people learn to express themselves clearly, listen well and build friendships grounded in respect. They practise navigating boundaries, peer pressure and conflict while developing the teamwork and leadership skills that help relationships thrive.

CommunicationFriendshipsBoundariesLeadership
Module 3

Wealth

Financial confidence for the real world.

Students learn how to budget, save and spend with intention, then explore the essentials of payslips, tax and investing in an age-appropriate way. Career exploration, résumé preparation and interview practice help turn financial literacy into genuine readiness for work and adult life.

Module 4

Independence

Capable choices. Clear direction.

Students strengthen decision-making, responsibility, time management and organisation through realistic challenges. They leave with practical safety skills, meaningful goals and a clearer plan for becoming more independent—with the self-belief to take their next steps.

Little Explorers program · Ages 3–7

Little explorers. Big beginnings.

Curiosity, confidence, kindness and creativity are woven together throughout the program. Each pillar comes to life through play, movement and discovery—keeping learning joyful, active and age-appropriate.

Pillar 1

Kindness

Caring hearts. Strong connections.

Kindness grows through shared experiences, teamwork, and caring for others. Children learn empathy, respect, and compassion as they build positive relationships with their peers and the world around them.

Pillar 2

Creativity

Big ideas begin in play.

Creativity flourishes when children are free to imagine, create, and explore. Through stories, experiments, art, and problem-solving, they discover that there is more than one way to think, learn and succeed.

Pillar 3

Curiosity

Wonder that keeps growing.

Every adventure begins with a question. Through exploration, discovery, and imaginative play, children develop a love of learning that inspires them to keep asking “why?” long after the session ends.

Pillar 4

Confidence

Brave steps build self-belief.

Children build confidence by trying new things, solving challenges, and celebrating every small success. Through encouragement and hands-on experiences, they learn to believe in themselves and embrace new opportunities.

One philosophy, three pathways

Learning that meets them where they are.

The lessons grow with the student. Every class is shaped for the maturity, attention and real-world experiences of its age group—so no child is expected to learn through a one-size-fits-all approach.

3–7

Little Explorers

Stories, movement, games and creative challenges make big life lessons simple, positive and memorable.

8–12

Tweens

Hands-on activities and guided reflection help students understand themselves, practise good choices and grow in confidence.

12–18

Teens

Deeper discussion, real-world scenarios and personal planning prepare students for increasing responsibility and adult life.

Frequently asked questions

Everything parents usually ask first.

Clear expectations matter. Here are the essentials about enrolment, capacity and how AT Guided Growth works.

Choose their program
Can my child do just one term?

Yes. Enrolment and payment are taken one school term at a time, so families retain flexibility. However, students currently enrolled get priority booking to the following term and for students to get the greatest benefit of the program we recommend completing all modules.

What happens if my child’s program is full?

Availability is managed separately for Little Explorers, Tweens and Teens. When an age-group class reaches its full capacity, the enrolment action changes to ‘Add child to waitlist’; if a place becomes available, waitlisted families will be contacted in order.

Are you moving online?

An online curriculum is part of our future plans, but AT Guided Growth is currently delivered strictly in person. Tweens and Teens can attend in Berwick or Mornington, while Little Explorers classes are held at The Old Cheese Factory in Berwick.

How is the program adapted for different ages?

The core life skills remain consistent, but the language, examples and activities change for each pathway. Little Explorers learn through play and stories, tweens through practical challenges, and teens through deeper discussion and real-world application.

Is the AT Guided Growth Journal compulsory?

Every student receives a journal to keep and use throughout the term, but it is a flexible learning tool—not a school workbook and never graded. Students can write, draw, discuss or participate in the way that helps them engage best.

Can we book casually?

Tween and Teen programs are designed as progressive, term-based experiences, so casual bookings are not available. Casual bookings are available for Little Explorers, subject to availability, and can be arranged directly by email or phone.

Is this a drop-off program?

Tween and Teen sessions are generally drop-off programs. For Little Explorers, we recommend that a parent or carer remain with children under five to support them through the activities. For children aged five and over, parents may choose whether to stay or drop off.
